In 2005 the Company adopted the social policy approved by the Board. The Company initiates and fulfills social programs on educational support and addressable help.

Assistance to disabled people

1. “Co-operation” tariff plan
Beeline offers hearing-impaired people a service plan with a special price for SMS and MMS that is available throughout the territory of Russian Federation.

2. “Beeline” internet shops
Beeline internet shops work in Moscow, St.-Petersburg, Volgograd, Ekaterinburg, Omsk and all adjoining regions. These shops are very convenient for physically disabled people.

Volunteer and Charity Initiatives

VimpelCom holds more than 100 charity and volunteer events in countries of operations.

In 2009 four blood collection events were held among the Company employees in Moscow and other regions of Russia to gather blood for children cancer centers.

On May 31, 2009 Vimpelcom volunteering employees accompanied children from Moscow orphanages to the Ice-cream Party in Sokolniky that was held under the slogan “It’s so easy!”.

In Cambodia VimpelCom supported the first Charity Fair organized by Mith Samplanh center on the 8th of August. Mith Samplanh center is a social foundation that supports destitute children.

Since 2005 VimpelCom has been providing financial help to funds fighting children’s heart diseases. This programs is called “Life line” under auspices of Charities Aids Foundation Fund.

In 2009 VimpelCom resumed the program “Employee voluntary contribution” in Russia together with the “Children’s Hearts” Fund.

For many years the Company has been supporting the tradition of congratulating the WWII veterans with Victory Day on May 9th. Every year VimpelCom introduces a service “Call your brother-soldier” especially designed for the 9th of May.

For more than 10 years Charity Committee in Moscow region has been providing help to all indigent people: veterans, disabled people and non-commercial organizations.

Help in Emergency Situations

The Company provides targeted and operative help in case of emergency or any other critical situation.
In 2008 at the height of energy crisis in Tajikistan, VimpelCom bought diesel generators that provided the most important social objects of the country with electricity.

Orphan Homes under Patronage

VimpelCom patronizes the following number of orphanages, asylums and children hospitals: 2 in Moscow region, 9 in Central region, 7 in Siberia, 11 in the Volga region, 10 in the Urals region, 13 in South region, 5 in North-Western region and 4 in Far east region.
