Roaming allows our subscribers and customers of other mobile operators, to receive and make international, local and long distance calls while outside of their home network. As of December 31, 2009,  for its traveling customers and foreign visitors VimpelCom had active roaming agreements with 545 GSM operators in 213 countries and supported GPRS roaming in 160 countries on 376 partner networks. Active roaming expansion is completed as we have already covered all main roaming destinations. However, we expect to continue developing roaming services for our subscribers.

VimpelCom provides roaming services in 213 countries in Europe, Asia, North and South America, Australia, Oceania and Africa. All the countries we have roaming partners in are divided into 4 geographical zones with unified roaming tariffs within each of them.

In 2003, we became the first Russian mobile company to launch a customized application for mobile network enhanced logic, or CAMEL, an intranetwork prepaid roaming service. This service allows prepaid subscribers to automatically receive access to roaming services provided they have a posistive balance on their accounts. As of December 31, 2009, we provided CAMEL roaming together with 177 operators in 124 countries.
