Social Outreach Policy Program
VimpelCom Ltd.’s Social Outreach Policy Program in Russia
provides educational support to children and youth to reach their
full potential, partnering with "New Technologies for Children"
VimpelCom Ltd. provides access to the Internet for schools located
in remote areas.
Life Line Fund VimpelCom Ltd. is a patron of
the Charities Aids Foundation’s "Life Line Fund", providing
financial help to support research programs searching for a cure
for children’s heart diseases.
Orphanages and Children’s Hospitals VimpelCom
Ltd. is committed to supporting children in need and is a proud
patron of numerous orphanages and children hospitals.
“For People, For Country” Practicing the
principles of social responsibility and social partnership Kyivstar
Company takes an active part in solution of the most critical
problems of our society. For this purpose Kyivstar implements a
long-term, large-scaled and complex social program “For people, for
Country”. The Company's activities in this direction are focused on
concrete support for needy people, as well as support of Ukrainian
culture, sport and art.
Aid Program of Social Integration of Disabled
The Program allows disabled people to obtain education, and
provides specific medical equipment to over 10 Ukrainian
rehabilitation centers and public organizations of handicaps.
Partnership Program to Involve Kyivstar, Zoos and
Dolphinariums of Ukraine.
The Program is designed for rendering assistance to the zoos and
dolphinariums as well as for developing and strengthening the
traditions of family communication. This Program covers zoos based
in the Central Ukraine, dolphinarium in Odesa and nature reserve
Askania-Nova.
Untapped Potential of Talented Youth of
Ukraine
The Program allows for a monthly scholarship for 54 best
students studying at 9 technical institutions of higher education
of Ukraine, and several contests of scientific and research
works.
Support of the Initiative to Prevent Human Traffic in
Ukraine by the International Migration Organization
The Company activates a free phone number of information service
in order to disclose a full range of information about potential
threats while migrating outside Ukraine.
All-Ukrainian School Football Championship
‘DJUICE-GOAL’ This program makes it possible for
pupils of the 7th -9th form all over Ukraine to take part in real
football competitions and try a fall with other peers for medals
and prizes to include a trip in 2007 for a winning team to the
Motherland of football – Great Britain.
Integration Aid Program for Physically Challenged
People Since 2004 Kyivstar has been lending
assistance and equipment to rehabilitation centers, education
institutions and medical care establishments for children and
adults all over Ukraine.
Social Investment Projects VimpelCom Ltd.

SMS Fundraising WIND provides free
text-messaging services to not-for-profit organizations and other
charity associations and foundations that can meet certain
transparency requirements, have adequate means for communicating
with the general public and support humanitarian, scientific or
social projects.
National Civil Defense System WINDprovides
support to organizations that are a part of the National Civil
Defense System:
• On the occasion of natural disasters, catastrophes or other
calamitous events, in order to overcome the emergency and manage
the subsequent phase;
• On the occasion of events declared to be “Major” in a decree
issued by the Prime Minister and falling under the responsibility
of the Department of Civil Defense.

Associations have agreed to collaborate for a common goal, joining
forces and their experiences, and demonstrating that one should not
only ask for solidarity, but that one can, and must also be,
supportive. A website was created, www.10decimi.org, where via a
forum each donor can keep in touch with volunteers who are there to
be continually updated. This is because we believe that
transparency and clarity are essential. The project has three
numbers for 10 projects that affect Africa, Europe, South America
and Asia, divided into three main areas: Health, Education and
Smile.
Youth Drug Prevention Programs
Wind was a sponsor of the “A Note of Security” concert at the
Grand Theater in Rome. The only “clean drug” is music - “Safety ..
mi. . fa. .re” is the slogan that speaks to young people, aged 13
to 18 years, to warn them about the dangers of alcohol and
drugs.
Wind, in collaboration with the Community of San Patrignano and
Miur, supported a traveling theater piece supported by people (18
to 25 years) who completed the rehabilitation program, “We free,
addicted to life,” bringing 30 shows all across Italy about
prevention, entitled “Ragazzi Permale,” and treating the issues of
hardship, drug addiction, and atrisk lifestyles.
Susan G. Komen Foundation On May 17 the 10th
edition of the marathon (5 km minimarathon and a 2 km alternative
walk) was held at the Stadium of the Terme di Caracalla for the
benefit of all: men, women, children – competitive and
non-competitive The event is organized by Komen Italia, a
non-profit volunteer organization designed to raise funds for
projects to fight breast cancer and to raise public awareness about
the importance of prevention.
Wind and the Red Cross: I live for you - 150 years of the
Red Cross Along with BNP Paribas, Wind was the main
sponsor for the 150th anniversary of the Italian Red Cross, in a
television program entitled: “I live for you-150 years of the Red
Cross,” dedicated to 98 million volunteers in the world operating
on behalf of the seven Principles of International Movement of the
Red Cross and the Red Crescent, which in 2009 celebrated its 150th
anniversary of the genesis of the idea. During the evening, viewers
were able to donate two euros via united sms (No. 48545) in favor
of “Asia baby-project to support intiatives for children afflicted
with serious congenital cardiac malformations.”
In.Formazione Multimedia Master Wind is the
sponsor of the biennial training course in which on one side stands
Iulm University experience, the first University specialized in
Communications, and on the other side Mediaset application on the
field of digital and multimedia editing. With two years of courses,
workshops and stages you can enter the professional journalist
exam.
Benedict XVI Foundation Scholarship Wind is
promoting a specific project by Pontificio Istituto Giovanni Paolo
II in order to create a series of three-year Scholarships for
needful eligible students from the poorest countries sent to Rome
head office by their Bishops.
PROJECT PUGLIA II Project Puglia is a project
financed by the Region of Puglia “Local Development Support”, in
which WIND participates as a technological telecoms partner. This
project, promoted by Wind Telecomunicazioni S.p.A. and by Network
Contacts s.r.l., ., implemented the construction of a Competence
Centre (operational office) in Molfetta (Ba), where marketing and
sales operate, as well as ICT, Customer Care, Research, Design and
development and monitoring of electromagnetic fields.
PROJECT CAMPANIA The Campania project,
promoted by the Consortium WIND TEAM (Wind Telecomunicazioni
S.p.A., Network Contacts s.r.l., Metoda S.p.A., art. 2 L.R.
n.12/2007) is aimed at creating a supply chain of TLC and ICT in
the Campania region. The project is structured in four lines of
action:
1. Enlarging and building infrastructures connected to the
regional fixed and mobile telephone network;
2. Creating a technology centre, “Competence Centre” for the
development of local operations;
3. Providing innovative services to businesses, citizens, and
civil governments;
4. Launching a research program aimed at containing and
reducing the energy requirements of telecommunication plants
The Mobilink Foundation Torchbearers The
Mobilink Foundation is a reflection of the commitment of Mobilink
and its employees to benefit the people of Pakistan. It is a
grant-giving organization, which also provides support for the
local community through its nationwide force of dedicated
volunteers. The Mobilink Foundation Torchbearers platform was
initiated in 2008 to formalize volunteer work. The nationwide
Torchbearers contribute with over 250 hours of community service in
the span of a month. Torchbearers have played a vital part in
mobilizing employees as well as families and friends to allow the
Foundation to participate in a number of initiatives such as
setting up free medical camps, organizing blood drives, planting
trees, and distributing food and other basic needs to the poor and
vulnerable groups.
Disaster Risk Reduction Pakistan Mobilink
in partnership with Orascom Telecom Holding established a Mobilink
Camp at Kund, Nowshera to support 1,000 displaced families who were
affected by the terrorist activities that took place in Northern
Pakistan. The camp provided shelter, food, basic non-food items,
medical support, water and sanitation in addition to education and
recreation activities.
Cornea Transplantation Project In response to
the United Nations support to the Vision 2020: the Right to Sight,
Orascom Telecom partnered with the World Health Organization, the
French Embassy, the French Cultural Center, KASR AL AINI Hospital
and other local NGOs to conduct cornea transplantation surgical
operations for needy children.
Round the Globe HIV/AIDS Campaign on
Bicycle The project supported a team of enthusiastic
& adventurous youths from Bangladesh who have set off for a
world bike tour as an advocacy campaign on HIV/AIDS.
