VEON’s Eurasia Business Unite comprises seven unique markets: Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Georgia, Tajikistan.

The Eurasian Business Unit consists of Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Tajikistan and Georgia. VEON provides mobile services to 50.5 million customers in the Eurasian countries and is market leader in Ukraine and Uzbekistan. It is the second largest operator in Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan. In Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Armenia, VEON provides mobile and fixed-line telephony, as it also owns fixed-line broadband networks in these countries with 1.3 million fixed-line broadband customers in total, enabling VEON to launch integrated fixed-mobile convergence products. With relatively low data penetration in the Eurasian business unit, mobile data traffic has strong growth potential, especially following the launch of 3G in Ukraine in 2015, which was the business unit’s last market to offer 3G services. VEON aims to achieve robust cash flows in Eurasia, promoting efficient capex and opex management.
